The computer club at the Obenstruth school in Siegen’s neighborhood Wellersberg, in close proximity to the city center, was founded in 2006. Club meetings take place on a weekly basis, with the exemption of school holidays. Children and adults collaborate on the project work, supported by tutors and the teacher.
School-Competition: “What is homeland?” – the children describe the meaning of homeland and the connections between them and their homeland by creating a film.
Trickfilm – Club participants create a trickfilm on their idea of the future.
World in a Box – Children create an interactive ‘world’ from paper, cardboard, common household objects and electronic components in a shoe box.
Poster Competition „Integration moves“: The computer club designs a poster with writing and selfmade images on the topic.
E-Textiles – Participants created interactive objects from fabric and electronic components.
Photography – What’s a good picture? How can I create one myself? Children in the computer club explore this with digital cameras in and around their school.
Calendar – Images from the neighborhood are taken with cameras, edited and then assembled in a calendar.
Video – Children explore the topic ,computer games’ in a self-made video clip.
International Cook Book – Recipes from the different countries of origins of the computer club participants are collected and assembled in a self-made cook book.
Trickfilm – The computer club creates a stop motion movie about friendship. This movie clip is then broadcasted on public TV in the children’s channel.
Animations – Children in the computer club explore the basics of programming by creating little animations on topics of their choice in Scratch.
